Architect Tan Yamanouchi has joined the Pop Power Project (PPP) — an expert community dedicated to advancing Japanese pop culture, including manga and animation, on the international stage — as its first architect.

PPP is a cross-sector expert community that brings together industry, academia, government, and civil society — including the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), and the Agency for Cultural Affairs, alongside research and academic institutions, industry associations, and private enterprises.

Tan Yamanouchi’s participation began in August 2025, with the aim of elevating his ongoing international initiative at the intersection of architecture and manga/animation — which he leads as both producing director and architect — into a cultural undertaking of broader public significance.
